Barley Cottage is our much loved first step into the world of country cottage retreats and has recently been fully refurbished to a high standard. It provides ideal accommodation on one level for four people (plus cot or z-bed by negotiation). The view from the main window both entices and excites those of us who enjoy the countryside as it reveals the beginning of a path straight across the farm fields and into a web of potential walking adventures. If you talk to us, we are also willing to take the well-behaved family dog, which would appreciate the abundance of excellent local walks at your heel.

The cottage is fronted by its own paved patio which is ideal for barbecues and al fresco dining. It is bathed in a riot of colour during the summer from the cascading geraniums, wandering wisteria and emerald glow of the Virginia Creeper along the picket fence. During the high season, many guests, with glass of wine in hand, peruse the comings and goings of the gathered harvest from the comfort of their own chair.

The squidgy sofas offer relaxation with the option of Freeview tv, DVD , CD and Broadband access, or good old-fashioned newspapers and books! The room is open plan, to include a table which seats six to accommodate any lucky guests you may wish to invite to dinner. Beneath the traditional beamed framework, there is easy access to the kitchen. Here, you should find everything you will need, plus hopefully a few extras..
