Cosmopolitan and historical, Chichester has plenty to offer visitors of all ages. From Roman villas, art galleries, theatre, historic houses and parks and even a planetarian!The Tudor Market Cross in the centre of the four streets is a great meeting place and often the site of street musicians whilst the magnificent Norman cathedral spire is visible from miles around.
The South Downs countryside has a wealth of outdoor activities on offer, including walking, horse riding and cycling. If ambling around nearby towns is of interest then Midhurst, Arundel and Petworth are certainly worth a visit. Goodwood, home to the renowned Festival of Speed, Revival and Horse Racing entertains enthusiasts from all over the world. The cross-channel ferry port at Portsmouth is just a 25 minute drive and there are regular crossings to the Isle of Wight.
For a day at the beach, West Wittering and Hayling Island are both around a half hour drive.
